“Art NOT IBM makes kids smarter”

A supporter has written in to artssquared@gmail.com with the following:

“Cuts to arts are abominable. Art NOT IBM makes kids smarter…………and that goes for society as well.”

And supporters are contributing to the conversation in important ways with their comments on the petition.

Here’s a particularly enlightening comment that speaks to the extent of the problem across campus: “These cuts have affected my students. My first-year Math course for Engineers has grown in size over 10% this year, and we have had to cut the number of graded assignments in half due to lack of funds for graders. It’s no way to train future Engineers.”
