Undergraduate student publishes letter in Journal on tuition fees & post-secondary funding

“In fact, Alberta is the richest province in the country, and one of the richest jurisdictions in the world. Our GDP per capita in 2009, after the global economic crisis, was still $24,740 higher than the Canadian average – $67,339 compared with $42,599.

Yet Alberta’s expenditure per capita is on par with or marginally greater than that of the other provinces. We have the money to dramatically increase post-secondary funding. Why shouldn’t we take advantage of that?”

Kay Rollans in Edmonton Journal, 30 March 2012
