In case you have not already heard by other means, please be advised that the Association of Academic Staff at the University of Alberta (AASUA) is calling for self-nominations to the Renaissance Committee. The terms for the Committee, ratified by the Association in June, can be found on the AASUA website. And here (highlighted) are the instructions for self-nominations as posted on the AASUA website on 10 October 2012:
2. The following information should be sent by email attachment to email@example.com:
(a) a biosketch, along with your full name, credentials, current U of A address, and contact information;
(b) information about why you would like to be a member of the REN Committee; and
(c) information on your availability, skills, knowledge, and other attributes or characteristics that would be of helpful assistance to the REN Committee as it forms and conducts its work (as negotiated and ratified in Spring 2012).
The self-nomination information should be less than two single-spaced pages (easy-to-read script, 12-point font and one-inch margins). . . .
The AASUA’s call also notes that “The Provost will meet with the Deans of AASUA members, who are selected to the REN Committee, to determine workload release.”
