Co-Chair Ian MacLaren Speaks About Renaissance Committee in Gateway

“This committee is looking only at the academic side of things, and in particular, the pressures exerted by salary and seeing what can be done in terms of the annual review of professors’ work that might bear or might not bear fully on being able to contribute to a solution on budget pressures.”

For my position, as a faculty member in Arts, on the fact that the Renaissance Committee “is looking only at the academic side of things,” see Arts Squared and Whither the U of A posts from May and June. On the idea that the annual review processes of the research, teaching, and service of University of Alberta professors might be used to bring about a “solution” to “budget pressures,” expect more to come in other forms and forums.
